Data Deletion and Account Deactivation Instructions

This page provides instructions on how you can request the deletion of your data associated with the ChatBot-IG service (https://glowiq.online) and deactivate your account connection.
1. Understanding Data Deletion
When you request data deletion, we will remove the following information associated with your connected Instagram account from our database:
- Your Instagram Account ID.
- The Access Token provided by Meta (Facebook/Instagram) used to interact with your account.
- All conversation history (Direct Messages received and responses sent) associated with your account stored in our `conversations` collection.
- Any related logs specifically tied to your account ID might also be removed or anonymized where feasible, though general application logs may be retained for security and operational purposes.
Deactivating your account connection means we will no longer be able to receive or respond to messages for your Instagram account.
2. How to Request Data Deletion
To request the deletion of your data and deactivate your account connection with ChatBot-IG, please follow these steps:

Subject Line: Use the subject line: "Data Deletion Request for ChatBot-IG".

Email Body: In the body of the email, please clearly state that you wish to delete your data and deactivate your account. Include the Instagram Account ID or Instagram Handle (@username) of the account you connected to ChatBot-IG. This information is necessary for us to locate and process your request accurately.
Example: "I would like to request the deletion of all data associated with my Instagram account [Your Instagram ID or @Username] from the ChatBot-IG service."

Verification (Optional but Recommended): To help us verify your identity and prevent unauthorized deletion requests, consider sending the email from the address associated with your Instagram account or provide additional verification details if requested by our support team.
3. Processing Your Request
Upon receiving your valid data deletion request via email:
- We will acknowledge receipt of your request, typically within 3 business days.
- We will process the deletion of your specified data from our active databases within 30 days of verifying the request.
- Once the deletion is complete, we will send you a confirmation email.
Please note that some data may be retained in backups for a limited period before being permanently deleted, as part of our standard backup procedures. Additionally, we may retain certain anonymized or aggregated data for analytical purposes, or data required to comply with legal obligations.
4. Deactivating via Facebook/Instagram Settings
You can also revoke ChatBot-IG's access to your Instagram account directly through your Facebook or Instagram settings:
- Go to your Facebook account settings.
- Navigate to "Apps and Websites" or "Business Integrations".
- Find "ChatBot-IG" (or the name registered with Meta) in the list of active apps.
- Select the app and choose the option to "Remove" or revoke its permissions.
Important: Revoking permissions through Facebook/Instagram will stop the app from accessing your account going forward, but it **does not automatically delete** the data already stored in our database (like past conversation history). To ensure complete data removal from our systems, please also follow the email request procedure outlined in Section 2.
